Scotland - Newbold House - Fourth Crystal Portal Ceremony
75
How can individuals get out of destruction, strife and confusion? “... by individual purification and refinement. As each of us improves ourselves, he helps the world just that much. As he neglects to improve himself he holds the world back just that much.”
“The Language of Silence” by J. Allen Boone
For me this pretty much sums up the driving force in my life. It is my motivator and it is why I feel I contribute to the “greater good” by traveling - and specifically the importance of this trip to Scotland.
My friends and I had been planing on creating a Crystal Portal
Ceremony near Findhorn, Scotland for months. This would be our
fourth... Las Vegas, Washington DC, Victoria Beach, Canada and Findhorn,
Scotland. The date was set - Saturday May 22nd.
You may be
asking yourself “What?” “Why?” Well much has been written about these
adventures in previous articles and on Lauri's website. There are links
below if you are interested in reading more. However, the nutshell
version is we want to help the earth and all it’s inhabitants become
more harmonious and at peace with themselves and the world at large.
My friend Beaverchief often said that in his culture everything they do is a prayer, every breath taken, every word spoken, every thought thunk... and traveling to me has become my own personal prayer, a concrete way to connect this life and my experiences with others...
For
reasons known only to the universe Gary and I were the only ones who
could make this trip... and anyone who knows Gary knows that Gary isn’t
remotely interested in this kind of stuff or knowing what is going to
happen or participating in any way. In fact he had all ready decided
that what he was going to do was an “ale” run while the rest of us
created ceremony... which as it turned out was ME.
I ended up doing two ceremonies. One in the morning at Newbold House, the other at night at the Old Manse of Bourtie.
By
the time I had come to grips that I would be conducting a solo
ceremony a new twist entered. At each place a dear person wanted to
participate. Eikkke, I don’t do ceremony, let alone lead ceremony and
here I am bound to do ceremony twice in one day with strangers.
Newbold
House is a beautiful Victorian mansion who’s history dates back to 1893
when the house was designed and built for the Woodcock family. It
current sits on 7 acres and is located in the northeastern part of
Scotland, in the small town of Forres which is near Findhorn... and the
whiskey trail.
In 1979 the Findhorn Foundation began renting
Newbold House as an additional workshop space for their educational
programs. In 1982 a separate Charitable Trust was created to make
Newbold House an independent spiritual center..
In May when we
arrived Newbold House was going through a transition . The trusties and
staff were trying to figure out how to create a Healing Sanctuary
Community. And because of the transitory state we were the only guests
in this mansion which could comfortably sleep 15 - 20 people at a
time... Since we basically had the mansion to ourselves, Gary and I
explored every nook and cranny of the house and grounds. We met
wonderful people, saw intriguing things from the past and then finally
in our snooping around I found the perfect place to hold the ceremony.
I settled on the sun room, which ironically when I got home learned was
nicknamed the Crystal Palace.
Mark, the director joined me on
Saturday morning and together we held a space of prayerful holiness.
Our mutual intent was to create an vibrational vortex for healing of the
individual spirit; the center, the country, the continent and the world
- assisting in raising the vibration of the world... so that world
peace and harmony would occur by 12/21/12. So now you know I believe it
is possible that we can create world peace...world harmony... world
love. And I like to think that by doing these ceremonies I contribute a
small step towards the success of this goal.
Whew, with that
said, I was laughing to my self as I ran around the house and grounds
collected things appropriate for what was to come - how strange to be
borrowing things with out permission - I am so a permission seeking
person - for a sacred ceremony... the dichotomy made me laugh and at
ease with creating the ceremony.
It was a lovely ceremony and then off we drove to find the Old Manse of Bourtie.
